Footage has been captured showing water shooting into the air after a large pipe burst in a field.
It happened at about 14:00 GMT near Ambergate, Derbyshire.
One witness said he saw water spraying more than 100ft into the air.
Jonathon Wroe, Severn Trent Network control lead, said: “Our teams are currently working hard to isolate a large water pipe that has burst in a field near Ambergate, Derbyshire.
“We’d like to reassure everyone that it is our priority to isolate the main, make a repair, and return the area back to normal as soon as possible.”
